My name is Rui da Silva, and I am a researcher at the Center for African Studies of the University of Porto. I live in Viana do Castelo, Portugal.
I am also Eduquê Podcast Co-host and producer. Eduquê is a Portuguese-language podcast created in collaboration with FreshEd and the Brazilian Campaign for the Right to Education. The goal of Eduquê is to showcase new Portuguese-language research on education, broadly defined. The episodes are transcribed and translated into English.
My work has been published in peer-revied journals such as Compare: A Journal of Comparative and International Education, Educação & Sociedade, Globalisation, Societies and Education and International Journal of Educational Development. Click here to read more about my research.
Prior to academia, I worked as a consultant and education specialist in projects in Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Timor-Leste and South Sudan.
